From April 5th through April 21st, the 6th floor of the Shinjuku Marui Annex is holding a special Exhibition featuring Hiroyuki Takei’s character designs for the 2023 anime Bikkuri-Men. The Bikkuri-Men anime was a modern re-envisioning of the original Bikkuriman anime and the chocolate and stickers that are still collected today. An official webpage highlighting the event has also opened.
The Exhibition space is open to the public each day between 11:00 and 19:00 with free admission. Fans are able to see large scale replicas of Hiroyuki Takei’s artwork he created for the anime series. In addition to the final art that was used as eyecatchs within the episodes, there is also some of his original design sketches which shows the directions on how to animate the characters. Some of these drawings were posted to the official Japanese website, but others on display at this Exhibition have not been officially shown online.

In addition to the Exhibition space, there is also a gift shop which features a collection of Bikkuri-Men anime goods as well as brand new goods made for this Exhibition featuring Hiroyuki Takei’s artwork. With the exception of the expensive art prints, all items are currently available in-store only and no online ordering.
